The Ocean in a Drop

Note from the Artist:

This is my first painting I’m sharing with others. It was never meant to be seen. It was a reminder for myself, a capture of an experience and a feeling while deep in a journey of healing. This painting was inspired by Rumi: “You are not a drop in the ocean, you are the ocean in a drop.”

It is a reminder to myself that I am part of something bigger. I am a reflection of the people and experiences around me. I hold waves of joy, empathy, worry, and nature. They are part of me as I am part of them.

Painting this was an opportunity for me to reflect on my relationship with myself. In the act of creation, I learned. I hope by sharing this, it inspires you to take some time to create something that feels like you.
